Role: Construction Project Controller

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction Project Controller to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, controlling, and reporting on the schedule and cost aspects of construction projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules in collaboration with project managers and senior controllers.
  • Conduct thorough variance analysis to identify and explain discrepancies between planned and actual work progress.
  • Create recovery schedules and recommend corrective actions to address any schedule delays or setbacks.
  • Monitor and control project costs, diligently identifying any deviations from the established budget.
  • Perform variance analysis to understand the reasons behind differences between budgeted and actual costs.
  • Propose corrective measures to mitigate cost overruns and enhance overall project financial performance.
  • Prepare detailed weekly and monthly reports for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to gather essential project data and provide valuable insights.
  • Effectively communicate project status updates and projections to relevant stakeholders.
  • Review and monitor subcontracts to ensure compliance with agreed-upon terms.
  • Manage subcontractor and vendor payments, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements within project management and project controls.
  • Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy in all aspects of project management, control, and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in project controls within the construction or engineering industry.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, scheduling techniques, and cost control methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
