Produce Order Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled Produce Order Writer to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our produce team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate ordering of produce products. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Purchase and replenish produce through proper buying procedures, ensuring timely and accurate orders to monitor inventory turns.
- Monitor and act upon open PO reports for both purchases and credits in an accurate and timely manner.
- Control spoilage and shrink, achieve turn goals, and participate in inventory management.
- Complete spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required.
- Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for stocking and merchandising products.
- Ensure orders for product are timely and accurate to monitor inventory turns.
- Oversee customer special order procedure.
- Analyze and control product transfers, waste, and spoilage.
- Support leadership in conducting inventories.
- Maintain financial profitability by meeting and exceeding purchasing and sales targets.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing needs in a timely and effective manner, and model suggestive selling techniques.
- Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
- Follow and comply with established procedures, including weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment, and maintain equipment in accordance with WFM cleanliness and safety standards.
- Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned, ensuring accuracy of signs and pricing.
- Immediately report safety hazards and violations.
- 12+ months retail experience.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
- May require use of ladders.
