Your Opportunity:

As a Physiotherapy Practitioner I in this community-focused position, your responsibilities will encompass both Home Care and Supportive Living service areas. You will engage in effective communication and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team concerning your clients across various service domains. In this role, you will receive support from the Allied Health Area Manager and the Physiotherapy Professional Practice Lead, while also having opportunities to connect with professionals in adjacent regions. You will offer clinical guidance to a Therapy Assistant and may occasionally have the chance to provide clinical placements for Physiotherapy or Therapy Assistant students. This position may qualify for a recruitment incentive ranging from $5000 to $25000, contingent upon a Return-for-Service Agreement of 1, 2, or 3 years.

Description:

As the Physiotherapy Practitioner I (PT), your role will involve delivering therapeutic interventions aimed at enabling clients to attain optimal physical function and independence amidst development, disease, disability, chronic conditions, illness, and functional decline. You will administer interventions including prevention, triage, screening, assessment, diagnosis, goal setting, treatment, management, education, consultation, fostering resourcefulness, case management, referral, and transition support to individuals, groups, populations, and communities. Clients and families will be regarded as integral members of the healthcare team, and their active participation in all care aspects will be encouraged. The PT will collaborate with patients and families to determine, implement, and evaluate suitable rehabilitation strategies. You will engage in various interprofessional teams to enhance awareness, enrich support systems, and participate in quality improvement initiatives; partnering with healthcare providers, patients, families, and other stakeholders to advance services for clients. You will contribute to quality enhancement and your professional community; engage in peer mentoring; and supervise students. Clinical supervision may also be provided to Therapy Assistants, Therapy Aides, and Provisional Physiotherapists.

Required Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program. Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Eligibility for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association is required. Heart & Stroke: BCLS-HCP certification is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Current AADL Authorizer is preferred.
