Your Opportunity:
The Step Up Step Down (SUSD) program offers a voluntary mental health and addiction treatment service tailored for youth. This innovative program includes both a residential component and an intensive outpatient service. We are seeking a qualified Family Therapist to fulfill a crucial role within our multidisciplinary team at the newly established Center for Excellence. This position involves delivering therapeutic interventions to families participating in our live-in inpatient program and the intensive outpatient services.
As a Family Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing family therapy and follow-up services to a diverse caseload of families whose youth are enrolled in the SUSD program and facing challenges associated with moderate to severe mental health issues. You will collaborate closely with various programs under the Alberta Health Services Child, Youth and Families Addiction and Mental Health Program, including acute stabilization and outpatient services.
Position Overview:
In your role as a Psychologist I, you will engage with interdisciplinary teams to deliver a comprehensive range of psychology services to patients and their families, adhering to established standards and policies. Your responsibilities will encompass psychological evaluations, diagnostic assessments, therapeutic interventions, rehabilitation efforts, and educational initiatives.
You will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to devise and implement services that reflect best practices and uphold ethical standards. Your insights will contribute to treatment planning, addressing psychological factors that affect client engagement and outcomes. Additionally, you may provide supervision to psychometrists, provisional psychologists, and graduate psychology students, as well as participate in the development of programs and policies.
Qualifications:
A Master's degree in Psychology from an accredited institution, focusing on applied areas relevant to this practice setting, is required. Candidates must be actively registered or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP).
Preferred Experience:
A minimum of five years of post-graduate experience working with children, youth, and families with complex needs is preferred.
