About the Role

Cherish at Central Park is seeking a skilled Culinary Professional to join our team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, ensuring that all dishes are presented to a high standard.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure that they are clean and well-maintained.
  • Staff Training: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their duties.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment, ensuring that we have the necessary resources to meet our culinary needs.
  • Cleaning and Organization: Clean kitchen and work areas, and organize buffets and banquets to ensure that they are presented to a high standard.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Work Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Work Setting: Urban area or retirement home.
  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to stand for extended periods, handle heavy loads, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Personal Suitability: Dependability, excellent oral communication, judgement, organized, reliability, and team player.
