Camp Director Position

About the Role:
The Camp Director will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing Cairn's programs, ensuring they align with the organization's mission, vision, and values. This role requires strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to foster a positive and inclusive environment for campers, staff, and volunteers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute marketing and communications strategies to promote camp programs and engage stakeholders.
- Manage operations within approved budget and fiscal policies, assisting in budget preparation and management.
- Support fundraising activities, as assigned, by the Executive Director and Fundraising Committee.
- Ensure the ongoing wellness, morale, and development of all staff, facilitating recruitment, hiring, training, and supervision.
- Plan and oversee day-to-day programs and services for all Cairn's programs, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and laws.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a coordinator or manager position at a camp, or equivalent experience in personnel leadership.
- Personal skills: problem-solving ability, professionalism, leadership, empathy, conflict resolution, organization, adaptability, growth mindset, collaboration.
- Standard First Aid/CPR-C or equivalent.
- Clear Police Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening.
Working Conditions:
The Camp Director will work in a fast-paced environment, requiring flexibility and adaptability. The role involves working with diverse stakeholders, including campers, staff, volunteers, and community members. The Camp Director will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all individuals involved in Cairn's programs.
Compensation:
Compensation is dependent on experience, qualifications, and hours worked. Expected salary range is $40,000. The position includes room and board (May to September).
