Camp Director Job Summary
The Camp Director is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing Cairn's programs. This includes providing leadership and direction to the camp staff and volunteers, and adhering to all legislative standards and requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Overall Responsibilities: Promote and uphold Cairn Family of Camps mission statement, values, faith statement, and strategic direction.
- Staff Development, Management, and Training: Ensure the ongoing wellness, morale, and development of all staff.
- Program Development and Management: Plan and oversee day-to-day programs and services for all Cairn's programs.
- Marketing Responsibilities: Execute annual marketing strategy to achieve Cairn's goals and objectives.
Job Knowledge & Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a coordinator or manager position at a camp, or equivalent experience in personnel leadership.
- Personal skills: problem-solving ability, professionalism, leadership, empathy, conflict resolution, organization, adaptability, growth mindset, collaboration.
Position Specifications
- Work Schedule – Off Season (September-April): 5 days/week Requires some weekends and some evenings with alternate time off, Peak Operating Season (May-September): Hours as required.
- Work Location – Off season (October-April): Combination of working remotely (majority of time) and working from remote locations (occasionally), In season (May-September): Onsite (private accommodation provided).
