Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and nurture long-term strategic partnerships with associations to pave the way for future growth in the category.
  • Enhance revenue generation in the collectibles sector.
  • Collaborate with partners to broaden the reach and promote the adoption of AbeBooks’ products and services.
  • Standardize and refine processes for effective partner management.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive category strategy in collaboration with the account management team.

A Day in the Life:

A typical day for the Senior Account Manager involves collaboration with colleagues across various locations. The day may include working on program objectives, conducting business reviews, or participating in discussions about specific projects.

The role balances new business development with the execution of strategies aimed at expanding the rare and collectible market.

Regular external meetings with sellers, potential business partners, and high-value customers are integral to this position. Additionally, time may be spent coordinating with partner teams on execution (e.g., Marketing or Product) or aligning with stakeholders on the direction of ongoing initiatives.

About the Team:

The Sales & Account Management team is responsible for seller acquisition, business expansion, and managing key accounts and partnerships. Our mission is to enhance the experience for all selling partners through innovative programs and collaboration with Marketing and Product teams. We strive to optimize seller contributions and improve selection availability for AbeBooks buyers.

Our team possesses extensive knowledge of our core customer base and is dedicated to driving seller success and enhancing the seller experience.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in a sales or business development capacity.
  • Experience engaging directly with small and medium-sized business owners.
  • Familiarity with e-commerce, rare book selling, and collecting.
  • Experience working with institutional clients.
  • Proven ability to build programs from the ground up.
  • Demonstrated success in establishing business relationships, both virtually and in person.
  • Experience in developing business growth strategies.
  • Ability to work with data and define KPIs to measure success.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or Master's Degree.
  • Experience in influencing senior leadership through customer-driven insights.
  • Experience collaborating across functional teams and with senior stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in additional languages (e.g., German, French, or Spanish).
