Job Summary

AK Transit is seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer and ensuring the timely delivery of goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a Tractor-Trailer: Safely drive a tractor-trailer to transport goods and materials.
  • Pre-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
  • Logistics and Record Keeping: Accurately record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with central dispatch and other stakeholders.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including bills of lading, driver logbooks, and inspection reports.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: Experience is an asset.
  • Physical Demands: Overtime required, repetitive tasks, and sitting for extended periods.
  • Language: English language proficiency required.
  • Work Hours: 35 to 45 hours per week.
