About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team at AK Transit. As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer and transporting goods across the country.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to clients and colleagues, demonstrating professionalism and a positive attitude.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain the condition of the vehicle, including tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
  • Logistics and Operations: Oversee all aspects of vehicle operation, including pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, and record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Communication: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, and maintain accurate records of all transactions.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including bills of lading, driver logbooks, inspection reports, maintenance and repair reports, and trip reports.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this position.
  • Experience: Experience is an asset, but not necessary.
  • Physical Demands: The role requires sitting for extended periods, repetitive tasks, and overtime.
  • Language: English is the primary language used in this role.
  • Work Hours: 35 to 45 hours per week.
