About the Role

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Clerical Support Clerk to join our team at the Pender Community Health Centre in the Downtown Eastside (DTES) - Vancouver, BC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to clients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Perform a variety of administrative tasks, including transcription, client bookings, and reception duties.
  • Work collaboratively with Integrated Care Teams, Community Care Services, and Fee for Service GP Partnerships.
  • Utilize knowledge of community, social, and mental health resources in the DTES to provide culturally competent support services.
  • Apply knowledge of Trauma Informed Practice, Harm Reduction, and Recovery Oriented Care to support clients.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 and Office Administration Certificate, Medical Terminology.
  • One (1) year recent related experience working with individuals with primary care, mental health, or substance use health concerns.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of community, social, and mental health resources in the DTES.
  • Knowledge and experience in providing culturally competent support services specifically pertaining to Aboriginal people.
  • Knowledge and experience in Trauma Informed Practice, Harm Reduction, and Recovery Oriented Care.
