About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Shift Manager to join our team at Smokin Samosa. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen and front-of-house areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Management
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of our food service staff, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent customer service and high-quality food preparation.
    • Train new staff members in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Operations and Logistics
    • Establish efficient methods to meet work schedules, ensuring timely food preparation and service.
    • Requisition food and kitchen supplies, maintaining accurate records of stock and inventory.
    • Estimate ingredient and supply requirements for meal preparation, minimizing waste and optimizing resources.
  • Customer Service and Quality Control
    • Ensure that food and service meet our high quality control standards, addressing customer complaints and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
    • Prepare and submit reports on sales, stock, and customer feedback, providing valuable insights for business improvement.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
    • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a food service role or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications and Licenses
    • Safe Food Handling certificate.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Excellent oral communication skills.
    • Client-focused and team-oriented, with a strong commitment to dependability and quality.
Working Conditions

This is a permanent, full-time position, working 35 hours per week. You will be required to stand for extended periods, bend, crouch, and kneel, with a combination of sitting and standing throughout the day.
