Position Overview
The Structural Engineering Division at IBI Group is engaged in a variety of projects, including commercial buildings and transit infrastructure. We are seeking a qualified Structural Engineer (SE designation preferred) to contribute to our dynamic team. Your responsibilities will include structural design for various projects, including commercial structures and transit systems.
This position is part of our global Places business area, where we collaborate with clients to develop, maintain, and improve sustainable environments that enhance community living. Our projects range from residential and commercial spaces to educational and healthcare facilities, all designed to meet the needs of the communities we serve.
As a member of our Design and Engineering teams, you will have the opportunity to work on innovative structures that redefine urban landscapes and improve public spaces.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the structural design team to ensure successful project outcomes. Coordinate structural design efforts with other engineering disciplines. Engage with clients and external stakeholders to ensure project alignment. Conduct structural modeling, analysis, and design tasks. Prepare and review technical reports and engineering drawings. Assess construction submittals for compliance. Identify structural issues and propose effective solutions. Evaluate constructability, staging plans, project timelines, and cost estimates. Collaborate with construction teams to determine optimal solutions. Participate in client and stakeholder meetings as necessary. Address engineering and commercial matters with the construction team.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. Professional Engineering registration with EGBC as a P.Eng, SE designation preferred. A minimum of 6 years of experience in structural design, particularly with buildings and underground structures. Proven experience with complex building and transit infrastructure projects. Familiarity with building codes and industry standards. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to produce clear reports and documentation. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Proficient in structural analysis software and Microsoft Office Suite. Willingness to work in both office and field environments, with travel to project sites as needed.Additional Information
