Traffic Control Specialist

Every year, more than 800 projects are executed through over 20 decentralized operational centers, covering highway rehabilitation, airport construction, industrial, municipal, and commercial projects, as well as subdivisions. The workforce consists of over 550 locally employed individuals.

Mission:- Performs manual tasks that contribute to the execution of projects within their professional specialty (road, pipelines, rail, etc.) while adhering to safety protocols.
Reporting to the Foreman, the Flagperson is tasked with managing the flow of traffic in and around construction zones, ensuring adherence to safety practices and procedures. A key aspect of this role involves assessing the environment to maintain safety in and around the work area. The flagging operation is essential for protecting other workers, equipment operators, drivers, and the public, ensuring effective traffic management and work zone safety.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure compliance with road safety practices.
• Manage traffic flow in and around construction zones.
• Assist in the setup of all signage related to work zones.
• Maintain continuous communication with other flaggers and/or the Foreman.
• Conduct hazard assessments.
• Uphold a solid understanding of and comply with the company's Code of Ethics.
• Evaluate situations in light of the principles of the Code of Ethics.
• Perform other duties as required.
• High School Diploma or G.E.D (preferred)
• Flagger/Traffic Control Designation/Certification (required)
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in road construction (preferred).
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Flagger (an asset).
• Travel as necessary.
• Overtime as required.
• Use of personal protective equipment is mandatory.
• Compliance with the company's drug and alcohol policy, including testing requirements, is essential.
• Adherence to all company policies is required.
• Use of sunscreen, long sleeves, and appropriate headgear is recommended.
• Must be physically capable of lifting and carrying at least 30 lbs. regularly.
• Work is conducted in an outdoor environment, which may include exposure to inclement weather, heat, humidity, and dust.
