Mission:
  • Perform manual tasks that contribute to the successful execution of projects within their area of expertise (roadways, pipelines, rail, etc.) while adhering to safety protocols.
Job Summary:

Reporting to the Foreman, the Flagperson is tasked with managing traffic flow in and around construction zones while ensuring adherence to safety practices and procedures. This role involves assessing the environment to maintain safety standards within the work zone. The Flagperson plays a crucial role in safeguarding fellow workers, equipment operators, drivers, and the public, ensuring effective traffic management and protection of the work area.

Key Responsibilities:


• Ensure compliance with road safety protocols.

• Manage traffic flow in and around construction zones.

• Assist in the setup of all signage related to work zones.

• Maintain ongoing communication with other flaggers and/or the Foreman.

• Conduct hazard assessments.

• Uphold a solid understanding of and comply with the company's Code of Ethics.

• Evaluate situations in light of the principles of the Code of Ethics.

• Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:


• High School Diploma or G.E.D (preferred)

• Flagger/Traffic Control Designation/Certification (required)

Work Experience:


• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in road construction (preferred).

• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Flagger (an asset).

Working Conditions:


• Travel as necessary.

• Overtime may be required.

• Personal protective equipment must be utilized.

• Compliance with the company's drug and alcohol policy, including testing requirements, is mandatory.

• Adherence to all company policies is required.

• Use of sunscreen, long sleeves, and appropriate headgear is recommended.

• Must be physically capable of lifting and carrying at least 30 lbs. regularly.

• Work is conducted outdoors, which may involve exposure to inclement weather, heat, humidity, and dust.
