The City of Vancouver seeks an Indigenous Recruiter to manage the end-to-end recruitment process using the principles of justice, equity, decolonization, and inclusion. The recruiter will be responsible for a portfolio of recruitment requisitions, including Indigenous-focused work, and will develop relationships with local First Nations, Urban Indigenous, Métis, and Inuit communities and organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage recruitment process for a portfolio of standard and Indigenous-focused roles
  • Guide hiring practices to ensure equity and inclusion
  • Develop relationships with Indigenous communities and organizations
  • Source candidates through Indigenous Career Fairs and networking events
  • Mentor Indigenous candidates throughout the recruitment process
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract Indigenous talent

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Experience as a Recruiter with proven experience building recruitment strategies and consulting/advising Managers
  • Experience working with local First Nations groups, including Urban Indigenous communities
  • Awareness of Indigenous culture and history, including knowledge relating to First Nations and Urban Indigenous peoples

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Expert knowledge of recruitment practices, including legal requirements, candidate sourcing, interviewing, and offer negotiation
  • Strong knowledge of HR programs, policies, procedures, and collective agreements
  • Ability to provide a culturally safe space to support and advise Indigenous candidates
  • Excellent emotional intelligence, communication skills, and judgement
  • Ability to build relationships with Management level business leaders and candidates

This is a regular full-time position with a salary range of $75,410 to $94,253 per annum.
