Lead Project Manager for Naval Communication Systems

Position Overview:
As a Senior Project Manager specializing in Naval Communications, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing complex projects throughout their lifecycle. Your expertise in Project Management methodologies will be essential in supporting Senior Project Managers and ensuring project success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organizing and scheduling project activities while collaborating with engineering leads to define project tasks;
- Assisting in estimating work efforts and resource allocation;
- Monitoring costs, managing cash flow, and ensuring project execution aligns with established timelines;
- Conducting ongoing cost and schedule control activities in line with Earned Value Management principles;
- Utilizing tools for schedule tracking and maintaining Earned Value dashboards;
- Managing contracts and liaising with customers and vendors;
- Providing project status updates to senior management;
- Facilitating workshops among various engineering disciplines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Software) or equivalent technical experience;
- A minimum of 5 years in a Project Management role;
- At least 3 years of experience in scheduling and task estimation;
- Proficiency in risk management and change management processes;
- Strong teamwork capabilities, collaborating effectively with customer teams, Project Management colleagues, and external suppliers;
- Demonstrated experience in procurement, financial management, and client relationship management within a project environment;
- Experience in tracking design and engineering progress;
- Adaptability to various assignments in dynamic contractual scenarios;
- Experience in Naval Communications and Defense procurement is advantageous;
- Familiarity with bids and proposals is a plus;
- Project Management Professional (PMP) accreditation is desirable;
- Experience with Earned Value Management and translating project activities into actionable dashboards and reports;
- Understanding of Firm-Fixed Price and Time & Materials contracts;
- A proactive and inquisitive mindset with a focus on problem-solving in a fast-paced team environment.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must qualify for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain Canadian government Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance;
- Must meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
