About Your Role as a Naval Communications Systems Engineer:
As a Verification and Validation Specialist/Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest quality of our naval communications systems for both military and commercial applications. You will be responsible for all aspects of verification and validation, from design to execution.
Responsibilities:- Collaborate closely with product owners, development teams, and stakeholders to understand product requirements and testing objectives.
- Participate in design reviews to ensure testability of design specifications.
- Develop comprehensive test plans and specifications covering a range of system functionalities, from basic to complex.
- Execute tests, generate detailed reports, and track results meticulously.
- Establish and maintain the test environment, including scripting development, vendor communication, and sample procurement.
- Design and implement automated tests for functionality and diagnostic requirements.
- Communicate critical issues and progress updates promptly and effectively.
- Troubleshoot test failures, analyze root causes, and contribute to resolution efforts.
- Provide training to team members involved in verification and validation activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field with 2-10 years of experience in the systems engineering lifecycle, including proficiency with requirements development tools (e.g., DOORS).
- Proven experience in integrating and testing military or commercial systems.
- Solid understanding of naval communication systems and protocols (TCP, IP, HTTP, FTP, DNS, SSH, etc.).
- Experience with scripting languages (Python, Lua, JavaScript, Bash, XML, JSON).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
This position requires eligibility for registration with the Controlled Goods Program, a Reliability status clearance from the Government of Canada, and a Secret Level 2/NATO SECRET security clearance. Additionally, you must be eligible to meet ITAR requirements.
