Position Overview:

Aecon Concessions is seeking a Senior Estimator to contribute to significant infrastructure initiatives. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of our projects, ensuring precision and excellence in estimation processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide and mentor a team of estimators, fostering a collaborative and innovative atmosphere.
  • Apply extensive expertise in construction estimation across various project scopes, including civil engineering, structural works, and station developments.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of project drawings and tender documents to fully understand the scope of work and requirements.
  • Utilize advanced design models and integrated digital delivery software for accurate project scope assessment and quantity calculations.
  • Create detailed bills of quantities by leveraging experience and employing advanced estimation techniques.
  • Establish comprehensive material pricing lists, labor costs, and equipment needs while ensuring accurate pricing of all items.
  • Utilize industry connections to secure competitive pricing from subcontractors and suppliers, maintaining quality standards.
  • Research historical data and compile insightful reports to inform estimating guidelines for projects.
  • Maintain organized records of documentation to support estimating figures.
  • Provide strategic insights during the design phase to facilitate smooth transitions from planning to execution.
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to deliver precise estimates aligned with project goals.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support project success.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in construction estimation, with a proven track record in large-scale projects.
  • A degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Strong ability to interpret complex construction drawings and blueprints.
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction methodologies, contracts, and cost management techniques.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities to inspire and guide teams towards achieving exceptional outcomes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with estimation software.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively in high-pressure situations.
  • A commitment to quality and excellence in all aspects of work.
