Position Overview

The Cash Application Analyst plays a pivotal role in the financial operations of EMCO Corporation, focusing on the meticulous management of customer payments and account reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate customer collections to ensure comprehensive and accurate remittance details, facilitating timely application to respective accounts.
  • Examine incoming funds, cash desk reports, and cheque batches for precision and completeness prior to processing, collaborating with relevant teams for additional insights.
  • Verify daily customer deposit records against bank statements to ensure accurate reflection of transactions including cheques, cash, and electronic payments.
  • Process cheques through Alloc8 and Cheque Pro systems, ensuring thorough daily batch reconciliations.
  • Communicate with credit departments and pertinent colleagues regarding unapplied electronic funds transfers and online collections to clarify customer details and application protocols.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank statements to align deposited amounts with applied collections.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in the cash application suspense account on a daily basis.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Profit Centre teams and customers.
  • Develop and disseminate training materials on the internal platform for colleagues and Profit Centre Managers.
  • Identify and address deviations from service performance indicators, collaborating with Profit Centre teams to enhance operational efficiencies.
  • Establish effective working relationships with credit departments to support their understanding of the application process and account reconciliations.
  • Respond proactively to inquiries in the cash application support inbox within a 24-hour timeframe.
Qualifications
  • A degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex concepts to varied audiences.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively, demonstrating excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, fostering positive relationships.
  • Self-driven with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Outstanding customer service skills, adept at engaging with a diverse clientele.
  • Proficient in problem-solving, data analysis, and drawing logical conclusions.
  • Willingness to challenge existing practices and seek opportunities for improvement.
  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English is a valuable asset.
