The Cash Application Analyst plays a crucial role in the Accounts Receivable department, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of cash application processes.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate customer collections to guarantee the completeness of customer and remittance data, facilitating timely application of payments to accounts.
- Examine incoming funds, cash desk reports, and cheque batches for precision and thoroughness prior to processing, collaborating with relevant departments for any necessary information.
- Confirm daily deposits of customer collections as reflected in bank statements, including cheques, cash, debit, and credit card transactions.
- Process cheques using Alloc8 and Cheque Pro for bank deposits, ensuring daily reconciliation of batches.
- Inform credit departments and pertinent colleagues of unapplied EFT and online collections to streamline identification and application processes.
- Conduct monthly reconciliations to align deposited amounts with applied sums.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in the cash application suspense account on a daily basis.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including PCs, NSC Teams, Credit Departments, and Customers.
- Develop and distribute training materials on the internal platform for colleagues and Profit Centre Managers (PCMs).
- Identify deviations from service performance indicators (SPIs) and engage with colleagues to enhance operational efficiencies.
- Establish solid working relationships with the credit departments.
- Support credit departments in comprehending the application process, account balances, reconciliations, and reporting systems.
- Address inquiries in the cash application support inbox promptly, within a 24-hour timeframe.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, College Diploma in Accounting, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey complex ideas to varied audiences.
- Proven ability to manage time effectively, handling multiple priorities concurrently.
- Demonstrated capacity to work independently and collaboratively, fostering strong relationships.
- Self-driven with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Exceptional customer service abilities, including effective communication with a diverse clientele.
- Skilled in problem-solving, data analysis, and drawing conclusions based on established facts.
- Willingness to challenge standard practices and seek opportunities for improvement.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English is considered an asset.
