Key Responsibilities:

  • Review the work of the Accountant, Payroll and Benefit Administrator, Finance Clerk, and Data Analyst to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Regularly review all ledger reports in the accounting system to ensure data accuracy and ensure all invoices and staff expense claims are posted to the right accounts.
  • Ensure timely and accurate internal and external reporting, including financial statements and management reports.
  • Review funding agreements regularly and ensure all revenues are received according to schedules and recorded in the right accounts.
  • Ensure timely and accurate billing of funders by sending out invoices according to the schedule in the grant agreement.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Train and coach the Accountant, Payroll and Benefit Administrator, Finance Clerk, and Data Analyst to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Respond to inquiries from program managers and provide timely and accurate information.

Requirements:

  • Makes some decisions in consultation with the Manager, Finance.
  • Follows policies, guidelines, and procedures in making decisions.
  • Makes independent judgments while analyzing information and interpreting and applying policies.

Working Relationship:

  • Works under supervision from the Manager, Finance.
  • Communicates with a wide range of audience including funders and donors, government representatives, staff, managers, volunteers, clients, partner organizations, and vendors and suppliers.
