About the Role:

BrandSafway is seeking a highly skilled Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of our employees, customers, and contractors on our job sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop effective mitigation strategies to prevent workplace injuries and illnesses.
  • Develop and implement safety training programs to ensure all employees are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform their jobs safely.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Collaborate with management and employees to develop and implement safety policies and procedures that align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor safety performance and provide guidance and support to employees and contractors.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of safety incidents, near-misses, and safety training.
  • Participate in safety initiatives and programs to promote a culture of safety within the organization.

Requirements:

  • NCSO designation required.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of safety experience with previous experience in the construction/ manufacturing industry.
  • Requires the ability to climb structural stairs and ladders and scaffold and enter confined spaces on job sites.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of current construction and general industry safety regulations and the ability to analyze and interpret this data for the safety of employees, job sites, and the branch.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, utilize judgment, and work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as strong organization and time management skills.
