Job Title: Intellectual Property Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Specialist to join our team at Blackline Safety. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving our intellectual property (IP) program, managing the patent pipeline, and ensuring the protection of our innovations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain patent pipeline tracking from ideas through to applications.
  • Ensure timely progression of patent applications and manage deadlines.
  • Conduct thorough technical reviews of new Blackline innovations and developments.
  • Draft technical descriptions and oversee patent application creation by partner agents.
  • Collaborate with external legal to ensure technical accuracy in patent filings.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's (or master's) degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
  • 3–5 years intellectual property management, patent law, or a related field (desirable).
  • Strong understanding of patent law, prior art research, analysis, and patent processes.
  • Excellent technical writing skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
