Recreation Aide Opportunity

Mariposa Gardens Community & Retirement Living is seeking a Recreation Aide to join our team in Osoyoos, British Columbia. As a Recreation Aide, you will play a critical role in enhancing the lives of our residents by providing engaging activities and promoting social interaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and revise departmental procedures and programs under the guidance of the Team Leader.
  • Set up activity areas and assist with transporting residents to and from programs, as needed.
  • Monitor residents' interests, needs, and progress, and maintain program and resident records according to departmental policies.
  • Promote social interaction among residents by leading activities and special events, and introducing new residents to the community.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or Certificate in recreation/leisure studies or equivalent.
  • Experience working with seniors, including an understanding of motivation concepts with seniors.
  • Understanding of leisure principles.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Valid driver's license (Class F or provincial equivalent, if required).
  • Ability to pass a Criminal Records Check.
