About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Recreation Aide to join our team at Sienna Senior Living. As a Recreation Aide, you will play a critical role in enhancing the lives of our residents by providing engaging and meaningful activities that promote social interaction, physical activity, and mental stimulation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement recreational programs and activities that cater to the diverse interests and needs of our residents.
  • Assist in the setup and maintenance of activity areas, including transportation of residents to and from programs as needed.
  • Monitor resident interests, needs, and progress, and report feedback to the Team Leader.
  • Maintain accurate records of program participation and resident feedback.
  • Promote social interaction among residents by leading activities, events, and orientations, and encouraging conversation and socialization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Team Leader.
Requirements
  • First Aid certification.
  • Diploma or Certificate in Recreation/Leisure Studies or equivalent.
  • Experience working with seniors, including understanding of motivation concepts and leisure principles.
  • Computer proficiency and valid driver's license (Class F or provincial equivalent).
  • Ability to pass a prescribed Criminal Records Check (applicable to British Columbia applicants).
