Job Summary: We are seeking a Recreation Aide to join our team, providing exceptional experiences for our residents. As a Recreation Aide, you will play a critical role in creating a warm and welcoming environment, fostering social interaction, and promoting resident engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the development and revision of departmental procedures and programs under the guidance of the Team Leader.
  • Set up activity areas as necessary and assist in transporting residents to and from programs, if required.
  • Assist in monitoring residents' interests, needs, and progress.
  • Maintain program and resident records according to departmental policies.
  • Promote social interaction among residents by assuming leadership of assigned activities or special events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Certificate in recreation/leisure studies or equivalent.
  • Experience in working with seniors, including an understanding of motivation concepts with seniors.
  • Understanding of leisure principles.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Valid driver's license (Class F or provincial equivalent, if required).
  • All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Criminal Records Check (applicable to British Columbia applicants).
