Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering legal counsel on privacy compliance obligations and identifying areas for enhancement in privacy practices.
  • Revising privacy policies, negotiating and drafting service agreements aligned with international privacy standards, and assisting in the creation of guidelines, training, and tools to foster privacy accountability and compliance.
  • Engaging directly with business clients to provide advice and practical solutions for a variety of corporate policies.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with outstanding academic and law firm credentials; in-house experience is advantageous.
  • Active membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
  • Extensive knowledge of data protection and privacy law, including a thorough understanding of Canadian, U.S., and EU privacy regulations such as GDPR, PIPEDA, and the Privacy Act.
  • Experience in offering regulatory and policy guidance in the fields of data protection, privacy law, and related areas of information law.
