Position Overview

In the role of Senior Architectural Technologist, you will lead and mentor team members throughout all phases of project development, from initial design concepts to construction documentation and administration. The ideal candidate will demonstrate enthusiasm, leadership, and innovative thinking. A strong technical foundation and design experience, particularly with Revit, AutoCAD, and 3D modeling software, are essential. Our current projects include both local and international endeavors in healthcare, cutting-edge office design, and urban residential developments with a focus on sustainability. Key responsibilities include:

  • Guiding team members and actively contributing to the creation of drawing packages for various permit applications and construction.
  • Regularly updating the Partner in Charge/Project Manager on project progress.
  • Collaborating with the team to ensure project success, focusing on client satisfaction, quality of work, profitability, and fostering professionalism and teamwork.
  • Working alongside the design team to define specific design goals, intricate features, and potential solutions.
  • Assisting in the development of detailed design concepts and converting them into development documents.
  • Coordinating with consultant teams.
  • Engaging with clients and regulatory authorities.
  • Conducting project code analysis and reviewing drawings for compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Leading client and consultant meetings as necessary.
  • Overseeing project tendering processes.
  • Researching building components and systems.
  • Participating in site meetings, reviewing shop drawings, and providing contract administration support as needed.
  • Engaging in mandatory training sessions and consistently adhering to safe work practices, including identifying and reporting potential hazards to maintain a safe work environment.

Qualifications

  • Architectural Technologist Diploma or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Over 10 years of relevant experience as an Architectural Technologist.
  • Expertise in Revit, Bluebeam, Revizto, and AutoCAD is crucial.
  • Familiarity with Sketchup and Navisworks is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Strong conceptual and design capabilities.
  • A proactive approach to learning and accountability in your role.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to thrive in a team environment.
  • Outstanding interpersonal abilities.
  • This position may require occasional travel for client meetings, training sessions, and industry events.
