Position Overview
In the role of Senior Architectural Technologist, you will lead and mentor team members throughout all phases of project development, including conceptual design, detailed design, construction documentation, and project coordination. The ideal candidate will demonstrate enthusiasm, leadership, and creativity, along with a robust technical foundation and experience in Revit, AutoCAD, and 3D modeling software. Key responsibilities include:
- Guiding team members in the preparation of comprehensive drawing packages for various submissions and construction processes.
- Regularly updating the Partner in Charge/Project Manager on project progress and status.
- Collaborating with the team to ensure project success, focusing on client satisfaction, quality of work, profitability, and fostering a culture of professionalism and teamwork.
- Working alongside the design team to establish specific design goals, address complex features, and explore viable solutions.
- Translating design concepts into detailed development documents in collaboration with the design team.
- Coordinating with consultant teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Engaging with clients and regulatory authorities as necessary.
- Conducting project code analysis and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Leading and participating in meetings with clients and consultants as required.
- Reviewing project drawings for accuracy, consultant coordination, and adherence to local building codes and bylaws prior to submission.
- Managing project tendering processes.
- Conducting research on building components and systems.
- Participating in site meetings, reviewing shop drawings, and providing contract administration support as needed.
- Engaging in mandatory training sessions and consistently practicing safe work habits, including identifying and reporting potential hazards to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications
- Architectural Technologist Diploma or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Over 10 years of relevant experience in the field of architectural technology.
- Expertise in Revit, Bluebeam, Revizto, and AutoCAD is essential.
- Familiarity with Sketchup and Navisworks is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong conceptual and design capabilities.
- A commitment to continuous learning and accountability in your role.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- A proven track record of thriving in a collaborative team environment.
- Outstanding interpersonal abilities.
- This position may require occasional travel for client site visits, meetings, training sessions, and industry events.
