Renfrew County Bus Lines inc. is seeking dedicated individuals to serve as school transportation operators, responsible for the daily transit of students across the Renfrew County area. Your responsibilities will include conducting daily vehicle inspections, adhering to safe driving practices, maintaining order among passengers, and making multiple stops for student pick-ups and drop-offs. Regardless of weather conditions, students rely on your commitment to safely transport them to their destinations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transport school-aged children to and from educational facilities.
  • Ensure the safety of children during boarding and disembarking, particularly at crosswalks.
  • Maintain discipline and order on the bus.
  • Keep accurate records (daily logs, timesheets, etc.).
  • Report any vehicle issues promptly.
  • Conduct a thorough daily inspection of the vehicle before departure.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle.
  • Refuel the vehicle at the end of each day.

Training and Benefits

  • Up to 40 hours of paid training at a rate of $16.55 per hour.
  • Reimbursement for medical examination fees and B licensing costs.
  • Coverage for vulnerable and criminal background check fees.
  • Reimbursement for First Aid CPR C certification fees.
  • Additional training and courses as required.

Compensation

  • $18.00 per hour for G Licence – Minivan and White Handicap Bus.
  • $20.00 per hour for B Licence – Yellow School Bus.
Qualifications

  • Demonstrate independence and problem-solving skills.

  • Have a passion for driving.
  • Exhibit a strong sense of responsibility, organization, and situational awareness.

Requirements

  • No criminal history relevant to the position.
  • Clean driving record with no demerit points.
  • Familiarity with the local area.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English.
  • Hold a valid 'G' Class Licence or equivalent, be at least 21 years old, and be eligible to obtain a valid Commercial Driver's Class 'B' Licence through our training program.
