The Role of Senior Fire Engineer

The appointed Senior Fire Engineer will play a pivotal role within the consultancy, working closely with the Head of Fire Engineering. This position demands a proactive approach to managing a diverse range of projects across various sizes and sectors, emphasizing the importance of leadership in mentoring junior fire engineers and managing teams effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage a diverse range of projects across various sizes and sectors, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  2. Lead and mentor junior fire engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development.
  3. Develop and implement fire safety strategies and solutions, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects, including architects, contractors, and clients.
  5. Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure fire safety measures are in place and functioning correctly.
  6. Develop and maintain relationships with clients, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring their needs are met.
  7. Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements, applying this knowledge to improve fire safety solutions and services.

Requirements

  1. A minimum of 4 years' experience in fire engineering, demonstrating a solid track record of success and expertise.
  2. Chartered Engineer in fire or working towards it, showcasing a commitment to professional development.
  3. A degree in fire engineering, structural engineering, or a related discipline, providing a strong technical foundation.
  4. Demonstrated experience in managing teams, highlighting leadership and collaborative skills.
  5. Proficiency in FREAW's (Pas 9980) and a history of leading client-facing meetings, underscoring strong communication and project management capabilities.
  6. A proven track record in the residential and commercial sectors, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of these critical areas.
  7. An entrepreneurial spirit, with experience in business development, driving growth, and fostering strategic relationships.
