About the Job

The successful candidate will report to the Electrical and Instrumentation Discipline Manager and will be assigned to various projects associated with the Oil, Gas, and Petrochemicals industry as directed by the Project Management group. The candidate will possess a solid understanding of electrical design principles complemented by practical working experience with industrial power distribution systems within Oil and Gas processing facilities. The candidate is required to be a well-organized and effective communicator. The candidate will be able to work independently, lead a team of professionals (engineers and designers) and be effective when working in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage assigned work effectively, prioritizing, executing, reporting, managing schedule and budget.
  • Establishing the scope of work, effort hour estimates, and deliverable lists.
  • Design of LV, MV, and HV Single Line Diagrams, including PC&M (Protection control and metering) Diagram with strong knowledge of relay and metering systems associated with substations and e-houses.
  • Prepare Electrical load List and perform electrical equipment sizing calculations (i.e. Transformer sizing, Cable sizing, NGR sizing, MCC sizing, grounding calculation etc.)
  • Define electrical Area Classification, and develop area classification schedule/report.
  • Provide procurement support by preparing Electrical equipment specifications, data sheets, material requisitions for quotation/purchase, and technical bid evaluation and vendor drawing reviews.
  • Perform electrical system studies using ETAP or SKM to develop load flow, short circuit, arc flash, harmonic, and motor starting analysis, protection/relay coordination, and setting files.
  • Review and support the development of electrical layouts (Electrical Substation/E-house layout, Cable tray, lighting, grounding, Schematic, wiring drawings etc.)
  • Knowledge of Interfacing with DCS, SCADA, PLC etc.
  • Review and support EHT design and calculation
  • Supervise, Mentor, Coach, and support the team members on projects.
  • Providing Electrical BOMs and major equipment costs for capital cost estimates at various project stages
  • Attending project team meetings, Client meetings, and vendor review meetings
  • Reviewing designs for constructability and accordance with project requirements.
  • Performing field visits to validate existing drawings and confirm tie-in locations.
  • Utilize the workshare office or HVEC (High-Value Engineering Center) to complete the electrical deliverables.
