Mechanical Engineer

About the Role
TWD is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our Sarnia, Ontario team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing various aspects of mechanical engineering, piping engineering, and design support.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, perform, and check calculations and designs using computer-aided and manual techniques.
- Provide assistance to the Department Manager in schedules, estimates, progress reports, meetings, procurement, and activities.
- Organize and plan jobs, write and review specifications, prepare and maintain schedules, develop and monitor estimates, and work with project/client/field personnel.
- Utilize vendor data and work with personnel from other disciplines as required for design performance.
- Travel to ensure successful project execution and perform self-checks of completed work.
- Exhibit thorough understanding of pertinent codes and governing regulations and industry practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- P.Eng. in Ontario.
- Knowledge of Piping and Static/Rotating equipment.
- Experience with Plant 3D/Ceasar II.
- Familiarity with design of distribution-related electrical systems is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated understanding of engineering theories and principles.
- Able to conduct detailed calculations to ensure designs meet engineered standards and applicable codes.
- Experience with multiple phases of projects, including preliminary and detailed design, tendering, construction supervision, and commissioning is an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
