Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our Village Care Team at Schlegel Villages. As an RPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary teams to understand individual needs and advocate for residents to actively participate in decisions about their care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide holistic care to residents, including safe administration of medication and treatments, with a focus on accuracy, quality, and meeting residents' quality of life requests.
  • Develop and implement plans of care (or service plans) in accordance with the standards of the College of Nurses.
  • Identify and report any changes in residents' well-being to the Charge Nurse and Village leadership team.
  • Collaborate with residents, families, and team members to deliver resident-centred care and promote a caring community.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current Heart Save Level of CPR certification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and team members.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, legislation, regulations, and best practices applicable to the retirement and long-term care sector.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MDS credentials.
  • Experience working in a long-term care or retirement setting.
