Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of employee biweekly payroll, including calculating salaries, deductions, bonuses, and overtime. This is a critical role that requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and excellent communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process biweekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, including new hires, terminations, promotions, and salary adjustments.
  • Review and confirm timesheets to ensure accuracy and adherence to company policies and legal obligations.
  • Provide weekly reports to the Finance team for various payroll-related metrics.
  • Collaborate with the Benefits Coordinator to ensure seamless execution of employee benefits.
  • Liaise with other departments, including People & Culture, Retail, and Finance, to ensure payroll compliance and accuracy.
  • Stay up-to-date on payroll laws and regulations in Canada and the US.
  • Support the Payroll and Benefits Manager as needed.
  • Assist managers and employees with payroll-related inquiries and resolve issues in a professional manner.
  • Participate in payroll-related audits and provide support as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee information and payroll records at all times.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; PCP certification or currently seeking certification is an asset.
  • Proven experience as a Payroll Coordinator or in a similar role.
  • Proficient in using payroll management software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Familiarity with HRIS and timekeeping systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high accuracy in data entry.
  • Numerical and analytical skills to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies and problems.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good attitude, willing to learn, and a helpful mindset.
