Position Overview

The Senior Demand Analyst plays a crucial role in managing the sales forecasting activities that inform the production and distribution planning of our finished goods, as well as the procurement of essential raw materials and supplies. This position requires effective communication and collaboration with various departments including management, sales, customer service, finance, and marketing. The individual will also be responsible for coordinating the sales and operations planning (S&OP) process alongside department leaders.

Additionally, this role involves contributing to the deployment of a new ERP system. The ideal candidate should possess experience with MRP/ERP systems and a comprehensive understanding of forecasting, planning, and supply chain methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate 12-month forecasts across different levels of aggregation utilizing diverse statistical techniques such as regression analysis and time series forecasting;
  • Conduct weekly data analysis and cleansing to detect and document anomalies, special events, and other factors that should be considered when finalizing forecasts;
  • Work closely with sales managers to collect insights on product trends, inventory strategies, competitive landscape, and other pertinent information that influences sales forecasts;
  • Maintain the monthly Sales and Operations Plan (S&OP) in collaboration with company leaders to align sales goals, develop sales strategies, and identify external factors impacting forecasts;
  • Evaluate discrepancies between actual sales and forecasts (forecast accuracy) to understand demand-affecting variables and articulate findings during monthly S&OP meetings;
  • Assist in defining minimum-maximum inventory levels, inventory turnover rates, service levels, and overstock targets to comply with corporate standards across all distribution centers and formulate a production capacity plan, including production hours and product mix by facility;
  • Identify and assist in resolving conflicts related to supply, demand, and capacity availability, while proposing product life cycles, including forecasts for new products and recognizing items that should be phased out.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, statistics, or a related discipline;
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in demand planning and analysis;
  • Strong knowledge of statistical methods and forecasting techniques;
  • Familiarity with R, Python, and VBA is advantageous;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, XLookup, Power Queries, and graphical representations);
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems;
  • APICS - CPIM certification (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) is a plus;
  • Exceptional attention to detail and adherence to deadlines;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both French and English (English proficiency is necessary for serving customers in the USA).
