Job Title: Educational Program Assistant

Bel Ayr Elementary is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Educational Program Assistant to join our team. As an Educational Program Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational needs of our students.

Job Summary:

The Educational Program Assistant will provide support to students with diverse needs, including those with autism, in a classroom setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing individualized education plans, providing behavioral support, and assisting with daily living skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement individualized education plans and provide behavioral support to students with diverse needs
  • Assist students with daily living skills, such as toileting, personal care, and use of assistive technology
  • Provide light to medium lifting and assist with non-violent crisis intervention
  • Trained or willing to be trained in toileting, personal care, use of assistive technology, catheterization, tube feeding, physiotherapy follow-up, seizure management, and behavior management support
  • Experience working with autism is an asset

Rate of Pay:

This is a 10-month position with a work schedule in accordance with the school year calendar. The starting annual salary for a 100% position is $35,817.70, including 4% vacation pay. Rates are based on a five-step scale with step increases occurring annually in accordance with the Collective Agreement.

Daily Hours of Work:

50% Position = 3.5 hours (includes one 15-minute paid break)

80% Position = 6.1 hours (includes 1/2 hour unpaid lunch and two 15-minute paid breaks)

100% Position = 7.5 hours (includes 1/2 hour unpaid lunch and two 15-minute paid breaks)
