Job Title: Educational Program Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Educational Program Assistant to join our team at Burton Ettinger Elementary. As an Educational Program Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational needs of our students.

Job Summary:

The Educational Program Assistant will provide support to students with special needs, assisting with daily routines, educational activities, and behavioral management. This is a 10-month position with a work schedule in accordance with the school year calendar.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to students with special needs, including daily routines, educational activities, and behavioral management.
  • Assist with the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior plans.
  • Support students with toileting, personal care, and use of assistive technology.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to ensure a comprehensive and supportive learning environment.
Requirements:
  • Valid First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • Light lifting (up to 20 pounds).
  • Trained or willing to be trained in toileting, personal care, and use of assistive technology.
  • Experience working with students with special needs is an asset.
