Valard, a leading utility contractor in Canada, is seeking a highly skilled Proposal Manager to join their team. As a key member of the Valard Group of Companies and part of the Quanta Group, the largest electrical power contractor in North America, this role offers a unique opportunity to work on high-profile projects.
Job SummaryThe Proposal Manager will be responsible for the creation and oversight of the Proposal Department, ensuring consistency of process, quality, and content across all RFx submissions. This includes managing and training personnel, overseeing daily activities, and assigning Proposal Coordinators to lead RFx responses.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and update Proposal Department procedures and processes to ensure efficient flow-through from opportunity identification to project award.
- Provide planning and leadership to the Proposal Department to meet objectives and strengthen relationships with other departments and sister organizations.
- Develop and build effective working relationships with clients and maintain all communications, information, and reporting distributed by the Proposal Department.
- Review incoming requests and prepare the Daily Opportunities listing, and maintain and update bid portal memberships and search metrics.
- Develop, maintain, and grow the Valard Bid Library, a virtual repository of key information, templates, and supporting documentation.
- Continuously learn, improve, and build methods and procedures to enhance Valard's chance of selection.
- Review information entered into Proposal Department databases and provide innovative solutions for RFx issues.
- Support sister organizations and Quanta as required and participate in RFx strategy groups as needed.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, with 5+ years of Proposal-related experience and 5-7 years of Management and Marketing/Sales experience. Project Management experience and/or training is an asset, as is Supply Chain Management experience and/or training. The candidate should have extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe applications and advanced knowledge of databases to create and maintain information stores in internal systems.
