Job Title: Educational Program Assistant

Highland Park Junior High is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Educational Program Assistant to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Educational Program Assistant will provide support to students with special needs, working closely with teachers and other staff members to ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist students with daily living skills, such as toileting and personal care
  • Support students with medical procedures, including seizure management and physiotherapy follow-up
  • Implement behavior management strategies and provide crisis intervention as needed
  • Assist with implementation and tracking of behavior targets and de-escalation strategies
  • Provide support with assistive technology and other medical-related procedures
Requirements:
  • Valid First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Light lifting (up to 20 pounds)
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification
  • Experience working with students with Down's Syndrome and Autism
  • Related diploma or certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution
