Job Summary

The Silver Hotel Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Cook to join our culinary team. As a Lead Cook, you will be responsible for leading the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring that all food items are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and lead the daily kitchen operations, ensuring that all food items are prepared and presented to the highest standards.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new menu items and recipes.
  • Monitor and maintain the quality of all food items, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of presentation and taste.
  • Supervise and train junior cooks, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are able to perform their duties to the highest standards.
  • Assist in the management of kitchen inventory, ensuring that all ingredients and supplies are ordered and stocked in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and other members of the culinary team to ensure that all kitchen operations are running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Ensure that all health and safety regulations are adhered to, and that the kitchen is maintained in a clean and safe environment.
  • Perform other duties as required by the Executive Chef or other members of the management team.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of kitchen experience, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Minimum 5 years of culinary experience, including a minimum of 3 years of short order experience or completion of a post-secondary culinary program.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail and to ensure that all food items are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and to provide guidance and support to junior cooks.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Current Food Safe Certification.

Working Conditions

  • Work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with frequent exposure to heat, noise, and other hazards.
  • Stand for long periods of time and to lift heavy objects.
  • Work varying shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Be available to work overtime as required.

Salary Range

$20.17 per hour.
