Job Summary

The University of British Columbia is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Associate to join our team at the West Coast Suites for Conference and Accommodations. As a key member of the housekeeping unit, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our hotel rooms and public areas are clean and well-maintained, providing an exceptional experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to guests, responding to their requests and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct thorough cleaning and maintenance of hotel rooms, including dusting, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, and washing of walls, floors, and surfaces.
  • Restock linens, towels, and other amenities, and ensure that all rooms are equipped with the necessary supplies.
  • Monitor hotel property and grounds, identifying and reporting any hazards or maintenance concerns to the appropriate authorities.
  • Perform minor maintenance and repairs, such as hanging drapes and blinds, changing light bulbs, and replacing door stops.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Requirements
  • High school graduation and a minimum of one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer service and attention to detail.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, and maneuver cleaning equipment and supplies, as well as stand for long periods of time.
  • Availability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
