Job Summary

The University of British Columbia is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Associate to join our team at the West Coast Suites for Conference and Accommodations. As a key member of the housekeeping unit, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our hotel rooms and public areas are clean and well-maintained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to our guests, responding to their requests and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Anticipate and identify guest needs, taking ownership of requests and liaising with other departments to ensure seamless service.
  • Carry out a range of cleaning duties, including dusting, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, and washing of walls, floors, and other surfaces.
  • Monitor hotel property and grounds, reporting any hazards or maintenance concerns to the appropriate authorities.
  • Perform minor maintenance and repairs, such as changing light bulbs and replacing door stops.
  • Ensure that the workplace is safe and follows safe work practices.
Requirements
  • High school graduation and a minimum one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous housekeeping experience working in hotels is preferred.
  • Building Service Worker Certificate is preferred.
