About Olds College of Agriculture & Technology
As a leading institution in agriculture and technology, Olds College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Athletics Coordinator & Associate Rodeo Coach to join our team. This is a part-time contract position that will play a crucial role in the success of our intercollegiate teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the highest level of animal and human welfare at all times
- Develop and implement effective safety measures to reduce the risk of injury for athletes, coaches, and spectators
- Provide expert coaching and guidance to student-athletes, focusing on performance analysis and constructive feedback
- Develop and maintain an active recruiting plan to attract top talent to our rodeo program
- Monitor and ensure the academic standards of student-athletes are met
- Collaborate with the Head Rodeo Coach to develop a comprehensive training plan for athletes, including competition schedules, strength and conditioning, and team building
- Assist in coordinating fundraising opportunities, alumni engagement, and special events such as rodeo clinics and jackpots
- Maintain effective communication with student-athletes, staff, and faculty to ensure a positive and inclusive team culture
- Support the Broncos Athletics strategic plan and initiatives, focusing on fundraising, sponsorship, and community relations
Requirements:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree
- Minimum 3 years of experience in coaching rodeo athletes
- National Coaching Certification Program Level II or equivalent
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing circumstances
- Strong dedication to promoting inclusivity and diversity
- Good working knowledge of Google and Microsoft Office
- Standard First Aid and CPR certification
Conditions of Employment:
- Work outside of regular College operating hours will be required
- Current Criminal Reference check with a vulnerable sector check
- Must respect and actively promote health and safety policies
