Job Title: Manager of Operations

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager of Operations to join our team at Wellington North Power Inc. (WNP). As a key member of our management team, you will play a critical role in the success of our organization by overseeing the construction, maintenance, and use of our electrical distribution system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain WNP's Distribution System Plan, Management Plan, Mapping, and SCADA systems
  • Prepare plans, cost estimates, and layouts for new/upgraded service installations, capital projects, and maintenance works
  • Promote and ensure the safety of all staff, outside parties, and the general public
  • Collaborate with the management team on Capital and Operating Budgets, strategic planning, and policy development
  • Implement new or modified work methods and techniques to improve efficiency and safety
  • Manage operational activities related to provincial Electricity Transition plans and provide direction and oversight of field personnel and contractors
  • Prepare and submit regular reports to the President and Operations Committee
  • Respond to requests for information from the public and deal with public complaints and service requirements
Requirements:
  • A minimum Power Line Technician Certificate of Qualification / Interprovincial Red Seal or Certified Engineering Technician / Technologist Diploma
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the Electrical Utility Sector
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership role with people management
  • Extensive knowledge of the regulated utility environment, including utility operations, electrical distribution system construction methods, and relevant regulations
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and public relations skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office and utility-specific software
  • A clear criminal record and a valid Class "G" driver's license
What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary range of $118,000 - $133,000, robust group benefits, and an OMERs pension plan.
