Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at RhynoCare. As a Nurse Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver Excellent Nursing Care: Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician's orders, and the resident plan of care.
  • Assess and Plan Care: Utilize sound nursing practice principles to ensure the delivery of excellent nursing and personal care in the assigned home area(s).
  • Ensure Timely Admissions and Transfers: Ensure a timely and accessible admission for the residents, including a comprehensive orientation to the home and the services offered within the home.
  • Manage Medications and Supplies: Ensure the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, and ensure protocols are followed on all assigned shifts.
  • Provide Comprehensive Care: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of the residents.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent.
  • Registration and Certification: Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses and current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Computer Proficiency: Basic computer proficiency.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Deals with others in an effective, compassionate, and supportive manner.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of the Long Term Care Act, Program Standards for Long Term Care, the appropriate sections of the Health Disciplines Act, Occupation Health and Safety Act, Pharmacy Act, Food and Drugs Act (Canada), Narcotic Control Act (Canada), Coroners Act, College of Nurses of Ontario Standards of Practice, and other pertinent Federal, Provincial, and Municipal Statues which influence the operation of the Nursing Home and more specifically the nursing department.
  • Certifications and Checks: Medical Clearance (including but not limited to TB tests), Vulnerable Sector Police Check and/or Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Clear Criminal Record check.
