Director of Compliance and Risk Management

We are collaborating with Angular Directions to identify a Director of Compliance and Risk Management. Angular Directions, a dynamic international e-wallet and payment solutions provider, is seeking a Director of Compliance and Risk Management to lead its operations and ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.

As the compliance authority and expert in the field, this role will be pivotal in setting standards and executing procedures to guarantee that compliance initiatives are both effective and efficient in identifying, preventing, detecting, and rectifying non-compliance with applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and oversee the annual compliance strategy that aligns with Angular Directions' unique operational characteristics, revising it as necessary in response to regulatory and organizational changes.
  • Establish robust controls and provide regular updates to the board regarding any deviations from the compliance strategy.
  • Offer strategic guidance to the management team on compliance matters, regulatory frameworks, internal policies, and prepare comprehensive compliance reports for the board as needed.
  • Identify, recruit, and nurture a skilled Compliance team to lead and manage compliance-related business functions across the organization.
  • Manage interactions with regulatory bodies and law enforcement agencies concerning compliance and financial crime prevention, coordinating the collection of internal information in response to inquiries.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a senior compliance role. Experience as a Director of Compliance or similar position is advantageous, although demonstrated capability and a willingness to learn are also valued.
  • Experience engaging with regulatory bodies and enforcement agencies, particularly regarding reporting requirements.
  • Specific experience within the Electronic Money or Payment Institution sectors is preferred.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications for senior roles in financial compliance or risk management from recognized organizations.
  • Strong understanding of corporate governance, corporate finance, performance metrics, and managerial best practices, with the ability to form, mentor, and lead effective teams.
  • A proactive, analytical, and resourceful mindset with strong problem-solving and strategic planning skills.
