Director of Risk and Compliance

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Risk Management Director to join our team at BMO Financial Group. As a key member of our risk management team, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and guidance on risk management practices and policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement risk management strategies and policies to ensure the effective management of risk across the organization.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to identify and prioritize risk management initiatives.
- Lead Risk Management Initiatives
- Design and implement risk management frameworks and processes to ensure the effective identification, assessment, and mitigation of risk.
- Develop and maintain risk management policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide Expertise and Guidance
- Provide risk management expertise and guidance to business leaders and risk management teams to ensure the effective management of risk.
- Develop and deliver risk management training and education programs to ensure that risk management practices are understood and implemented across the organization.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the effective management of risk and to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that risk management practices are aligned with business objectives.
Requirements
- Education and Experience
- Typically between 5 - 8 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Skills and Knowledge
- In-depth knowledge of risk management concepts and applications.
- In-depth knowledge and experience with risk policy frameworks, quality control/testing frameworks, and omics.
- Experience with Counterparty Credit Risk systems.
- Knowledge of Python platform.
