Job Title: Applied Research Scientist

We are seeking an experienced Applied Research Scientist to join our Scientific team on a full-time, permanent basis. This position will be based out of our head office in Liberty Village and will require candidates to be in-office 5-days a week.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research on raw materials to identify their mode of action and recommend the best materials for product development.
  • Collaborate with principal scientists and senior chemists to select raw materials and new technologies for product development.
  • Use design of experiments (DOEs) and statistical analysis to mitigate potential stability challenges and find synergies between active ingredients.
  • Assist in creating, reviewing, and approving technical documents to support product development.
  • Troubleshoot existing products and develop plans of action to resolve issues.
  • Support the development of new formulations from ideation to launch.
  • Prepare documentation and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3+ years of research experience related to topical applications or ingredient selection.
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field.
  • Strong knowledge of GLP and GMP guidelines and regulatory requirements applicable to cosmetic and OTC products.
  • Demonstrated research skills and established networking with raw materials suppliers.
  • DOE experience is an asset, and familiarity with statistical analysis tools is a plus.
